As we arrived in Australia everyone
was quite happy to get off the plane. We rushed through customs and got outside
of the airport as quickly as possible. We took a cab to our hotel. But we found
a pleasant surprise. Our room had been switched and we got relocated to the 20th
floor where he had the most amazing view of the Sydney Opera House and the
Sydney Harbor Bridge. My sister and I were quite happy to stay in our hotel
room and relax but our parents dragged us outside to go walk around town.
First, we went to the farmers market and got the BEST meatball sandwiches ever.
After we finished our mid-day snack we headed over to the Sydney Harbor Bridge. As we troughed along the bridge we saw people
climbing it! My mom was looking at them in awe as they climbed the 300ft bridge
until I noticed and told her that they were wearing harnesses and had an
instructor alongside them. We then continued to walk along the bridge with my
parents taking countless pictures of me until our feet hurt. Then all of us
decided that it was best for us to go back to the hotel maybe take a nap or
read for a little while. When we got back to the hotel jetlag hit us and we all
crashed and burned.
Once we had taken a nice long nap we decided to go and take a
visit to the Opera House. When we were walking to the Opera House we saw a lot
of people setting up little shops along the sidewalk. One of them was a snake
charmer and he used his little horn thing to control the snake. It was really
cool. Once we arrived at the Opera House we snapped dozens of pictures but we
couldn’t go inside because it was too late to get a tour. It is amazing! We
found out though that it was built in the 60’s and is currently under
construction. Sadly due to construction it couldn’t light up at night.
As we were walking back to our hotel we stopped at the Opera
Bar. It is right next to the Opera House and is right on the water. It was
packed to the brim and my Dad snuck away to grab a drink.
Our first
